Aeramine will attend IWC-HTS 2026, the 5th International Workshop on Cooling Systems for High-Temperature Superconducting Applications, at the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands, from 26-29 October 2026. CTO George Seplyarsky will represent the company.
The workshop brings together researchers, equipment manufacturers and system developers working in cryogenics and superconductivity. Its programme covers applications including superconducting magnets, motors, fusion, medical technologies and major scientific facilities, alongside the cooling and integration challenges involved in putting these systems into operation.
Aeramine develops copper refining technology that recovers value from scrap copper for demanding engineering applications. The company’s work through the Innovate UK-funded Pure CuRE project combined copper refinement and atomisation, supporting the development of a circular supply of high purity copper.
For cryogenic applications, material qualification needs to address trace impurities, residual resistivity ratio (RRR) and thermal conductivity at the operating temperature. Aeramine’s focus at Twente will be on understanding these requirements directly from the teams designing, manufacturing and testing cryogenic and superconducting equipment.
Discussions will centre on copper specifications, material forms, sample evaluation and routes to qualification. The aim is to identify suitable applications and establish next steps for testing and commercial collaboration.
The programme also includes a COMET workshop on 29 October exploring vacuum and cryogenic technologies for the Einstein Telescope. This provides a further opportunity to connect with companies and researchers working on demanding vacuum, cooling and scientific infrastructure projects.
