The Aeramine story.
Aeramine was founded in 2021 by Alex Lapis and Raymond Lam with a simple goal: refine recycled copper into ultra-high-purity copper for advanced technologies.
In 2023, Aeramine was awarded an Innovate UK grant for Pure CuRE (Pure Copper Resource Efficiency). Running from November 2023 to March 2025, the project brought together Aeramine, Phoenix Scientific Industries (PSI) and the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) to develop copper recycling, refinement and atomisation.
In June 2026, Aeramine joined the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK’s Mobilise programme to advance its ultra-high-purity copper refining technology towards commercialisation, including applications in electric vehicle components and a stronger UK supply chain.
